What it is
The tissues in your face lose firmness and elasticity with age. This, in combination with repetitive facial movements, creates wrinkles and fine lines. These wrinkles make the brow line push down onto the eyes, giving a tired and grumpy appearance. Brow lift surgery tightens the skin on your forehead in order to correct, relax and refresh the upper part of the face.
Brow lift surgery is great for treating:
Droopy eyebrows
Tired and/or grumpy eyes
Forehead wrinkles
Options
Brow lift surgery can be performed on its own or it can be combined with a facelift and/or blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) to offer a dramatically more youthful appearance.
Approximate duration of surgery
1 hour
Anesthesia
The brow lift can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. It is best to consult with Dr Rizis in order to establish the best technique for your surgery.
Post-Op Care
The brow lift is a day surgery. You will therefore be home on the first night and for the remainder of your recovery. Dr Rizis will see you within the first 5 days to remove sutures and bandages as well as to assess your scars. Recovery continues for a few weeks until the swelling has significantly subsided. Most patients resume normal activities such as work, driving, showering and exercise within the first 7 to 10 days.
Potential Risks & Complications
Although unlikely, all surgical procedures pose potential health risks. During the pre-operative consultation, Dr Rizis will go over all possible risks and complications as well as pertinent procedure information.
