What it is
Most patients are concerned with aging skin as it affects tone, texture and elasticity. The superficial layers of the skin are targeted with a carbon dioxide, pulsed beam that creates micro-damage to aging skin cells. This micro-damage stimulates collagen production and promotes healthy new skin cells.
CO2 lasers treat a vast array of skin issues such as:
Wrinkles and fine lines
Skin texture
Pigment
Scars
Acne scars
Options
The CO2 resurfacing treatment can be performed alone (at the medispa) or in combination with any other surgery in the operating room. It is most often combined with blepharoplasty, neck lift and facelift.
Duration
30 minutes
Anesthesia
CO2 laser treatments are performed with the application of a topical anesthetic.
Post-Treatment Care
CO2 resurfacing is a quick treatment. You can therefore return home immediately after your treatment. Dr Rizis will see you within the first 7-14 days to assess your skin. Recovery continues for a few weeks until the swelling has significantly subsided. Most patients resume normal activities such as work, driving, showering and exercise within the first 7 to 10 days.
Potential Risks & Complications
