What it is

Diet and exercise are sometimes not enough to achieve weight loss goals in areas such as the inner thighs. A Thigh Lift may be necessary in order to restore a tighter, more proportionate lower body. The combination of liposuction and excess skin removal are performed through strategically located incisions in the groin.

Thigh Lifts are great for:

  • Reducing excess thigh skin

  • Reducing excess thigh fat

Options

Thigh Lift surgery is a surgery that can either be performed on its own or in combination with other surgeries such as Liposuction, Abdominoplasty and Brachioplasty.

Approximate duration of surgery:

3 hours

Anesthesia

Thigh lifts are normally performed under general anesthesia. They can, however, be performed under local anesthesia with sedation. It is best to consult with Dr Rizis in order to establish the best technique for your surgery.

Post-Op Care

Thigh Lift surgery is a day surgery. You can therefore return home the night of your surgery and for the remainder of your recovery. Dr Rizis will see you within the first 5 to 7 days to assess your skin and scar as well as to remove sutures and drains. Recovery continues for a few weeks until the swelling has significantly subsided. Most patients resume normal activities such as work, driving, and showering within the first 10 to 15 days.

Potential Risks & Complications

Although unlikely, all surgical procedures pose potential health risks. During the pre-operative consultation, Dr Rizis will go over all possible risks and complications as well as pertinent procedure information.
